I have one word for you, cholestrol. I have terrible cholestrol. My goal through the end of the year will be to eat things that will help naturally lower my cholestrol. I just had my blood work done seven weeks ago so I have a baseline. I will have it checked again in January. Now to figure out which food to eat... and not eat.
As a start you might try Iris and I's breakfast shake.
ReplyDelete1st- grind 2 T flaxseed in your blender.(don't use pre-ground)
add a cup of juice
add 1/2 to 1 cup of berries or fruit
1/2 banana (optional)
add 1 T psyllium husk
add 1 T chia seeds
add 2 T wheat germ
add 2T whey powder if you need protein
add 600 mg of fish oil ( found in gelatin capsule...I just add the capsule and fish it out later-less messy)
fill rest of the blender with baby spinach(trust me it's good!)
If the berries and the banana are frozen it makes it better.Or add some ice cubes..
Some combo's we especially like are
frozen raspberries and chocolate whey powder
oj and mangos
peaches and vanilla whey powder ( I add soy milk too)
the point and advice is to eat at least 8-10 fresh vegetables and fruits in a day...canned or cooked do not count and you should be heavy on the non acidic ( or rather eat the alkaline type) veg's like asparagus and broccolli.
Can't hurt-might help!
